Writing Attitudes and Behaviors

Many people now a days haven't realized that their attitude towards writing and behavior affects their writing in general. Everyone continues to write up assignments, journals, and articles without the thought of " Maybe I don't do so well with writing tasks because of how I feel towards writing.". If you truly sat down and thought about your attitude towards writing you will see how greatly it effects the outcome of your work. If you are not very confident with what your writing your work will reflect that and show the reader that your not confident at all.
Think about these questions:

  • Does my fear of writing get in the way of my being effective in my professional role?
  • Do writing tasks take me longer to complete because I lack skill in this area?
  • What experiences have I had in sharing my writing with others?
  • What would have to happen for me to prioritize writing as a professional responsibility? (Rafanello 2008)

I learned a lot about my own writing attitudes and behaviors. I learned that by me not being confident in my own writing shows in my work. I have a negative view towards writing I honestly hate writing and I will admit to that. By me having such a negative outlook towards writing I as if there is no driving force to make me write. I believe that is the reason why I don't find writing fun at all because of my feeling towards it and by me not being motivated enough to go out and write.

What I will change to help improve my writing attitude and behavior, well I mean what I will try to change to help improve my writing attitude and behavior is show my writing to people I trust so I can get there view back on what they think of my writing. I feel that by me doing that I will feel a little more confident each time I write something. Once I have my confidence I will be able to drive my self to complete each of my assignment to the best of my ability and not slack off. Well I'm going to try my very best not to slack off, I cant make any promises. :p
